| Eugene Abrams Biography Eugene Abrams was born in Montreal. He first studied drawing and painting with noted Montreal artist Rita Briansky. Later, he studied figure drawing under Leslie Coppold, R.C.A. In 2000, he completed a masters program in figurative art at the New York Academy of Art where among his teachers were the master draughtsmen Edward Schmidt and Randy Melick. Since his return to Montreal, he has exhibited paintings, drawings and prints at galleries in Montreal, Longueuil and New York. He has produced drypoint engravings at the Evelyn Dufour studio, participating in several group exhibitions, including a show of miniature works in Manley Australia. He has also taken part in numerous shows in Montreal, exhibiting drawings and paintings at Dimensions Plus, Gemst Gallery, Mile End Gallery, The Arts Club, L’Illustre Galérie and various other venues. The Soccer Ballet, a large solo exhibition of his work, at the Trimont Gallery in Montreal in 2010, was well received by the media. In 2011, his works were featured at the Campbell Gallery in Montreal. In the same year, one of his works was included in a group show at the Forbes Gallery in New York City.
